Amana Ice
Maker parts: An Ice Maker is one of the best features on modern refrigerators. When your ice maker is working you don't have to worry about filling up ice trays or making trips to the store for bags of ice. If you have guests you don't have to serve room-temperature drinks because you forgot to refill the ice tray. The ice maker does all of that for you. Ice makers are convenient and simple to use but icemakers sometimes break and stop working. The good thing is you don't have to worry about replacing the whole refrigerator. You can find great Amana ice maker parts or kits to fix your broken one.
Amana Light
Switches: The light in a refrigerator is controlled by an interior
switch. If the light is not working it sometimes turns out to be
a problem with the switch rather than the light. Replacing a light
switch is a pretty simple process that only requires a few tools.
Amana Defrost
Timers: If you discover that your refrigerator is either cooling
too much or not at all there can be a number of reasons why this
is happening. In most cases it is a result of the refrigerator's
defrost timer going bad. The defrost timer helps to regulate the
temperature in your refrigerator and freezer to prevent ice buildup. The defrost timer is usually found behind the front grill of the freezer. It may also be found behind a cover plate inside the freezer, in the temperature control console, or behind the freezer near the compressor.
Amana Compressors: The compressor is the motor (or engine) of the cooling
system. Built in refrigerators the compressor is located on top
of the refrigerator behind a grill or grate. It's about the size
of a football and is usually black. The compressor kicks on when
the refrigerator thermostat calls for cooling. It is normally very
quiet. When running, it is compressing a refrigerant that is in
a low-pressure gaseous state to a high-pressure gas.
Amana Condenser fan motors:
The condenser is a series of tubes with fins attached to
them, similar to a radiator. The condenser is always placed on the
outside of the refrigerator. It may be, large black grid mounted
to the back of the refrigerator folded and placed under the refrigerator
coiled up and placed near the compressor Integrated in the liner
of the refrigerator. If the condenser isn't a big grid on the back
of the refrigerator, it will always have a cooling fan nearby to
draw room air over the tubes and fins--to dissipate the heat from
the tubes and fins. The high-pressure refrigerant gas, coming from
the compressor, flows through the condenser and becomes a liquid.
As this occurs, the refrigerant gives off heat. The heat is conducted
away from the tubes by the fins.
